Some still life

This is my first time ever stacking.

Today my macro focusing rail came. You know, the cheap $50 one from China? :) Well, it's a damn good $50 spent. I swear these days, the best place to get photography gear is from the Chinese manufacturers selling on eBay. Why? Because they run the factories that manufacture products for big brands who sell them at big stores (B&H, Adorama, etc.) for premium prices.

Here are the results:

Nice. Definitely see improvement in your macro shots. These shots are making me want to dig up my coin collection and start taking some pictures. Might ask you about that focusing rail the day I pick up my first macro lens. Might not be for a while though.

When you do get a macro lens, unless you plan on doubling it up as a portrait lens, pick up a lens with a longer FL. I chose the Tammy 90 because I mainly wanted it for portraits but at the same time could do 1:1 macro for whenever I get bored. Now that I'm starting to get into macro on the side, I might have to pick up a teleconverter (1.4x or 2x --I haven't decided yet). But I'm kind of glad I picked up a Tammy 90 2.8 instead of a Tammy 180 3.5. At least I have a portrait lens.
